Prison or jail cell Kirikiri is the name of a huge prison located in Kirikiri, Lagos state, Nigeria. This prison is notorious for its inhumane conditions. Prisoners are extremely violent and as a result prison guards are sometimes mean and torture the unruly unnecessarily. Kirikiri can be used as either an adjective or noun. For example one can say, “I would rather die than go to kirikiri prison.” or “ I hope the armed robbers are in kirikiri.”
 
“If you get caught they will send you to kirikiri, so don’t even try it!”
Etymology : As a result of the immense reputation of a huge prison located in Kirikiri, Lagos, prisons are referred to as kirikiri.
