Phat
adjective; acronym
Something very cool or exciting. Phat was originally formed by the acronym “Pretty hot and tempting” to describe something in a good way or as pleasing, usually in a sexual way. The current meaning of phat, however, has expanded to be able to refer to anything good. It is also a good example of folk etymology, as many people believe it came about as a clever misspelling of the word fat.
