- I have to go presentate now.
Presentate
verb; derivation
To present or give a talk to an audience. Presentate is a derivation of the verb present, as in to demonstrate something. It was formed by adding the suffix –ate, which creates a verb, to the already verb present. The result is simply a novel verb which means the same thing as the word it comes from. In fact, the novelty of the word was probably the main reason it was used. According to the English system we taught, it makes perfect sense to create a verb by adding the –ate suffix. This principle was simply extended to use on words that are already verbs, even though it makes no rational sense.
Etymology : Presentate. English [Present. From Latin ‘presentare’ (exhibit, place before).] + -ATE ‘V’
