- Are you still reading that literasewer?
Literasewer
noun; blending
literature that one considers to lack in merit. My friend wanted a way to denigrate my reading Harry Potter and thus establish my book choice as inferior. He thus blended the words “literature” and “sewer” as a way of making the word “literature” undergo pejoration, since sewers are dirty places filled with trash (garbage) just as Harry Potter is filled with trash (inferior writing). The word is also a fitting blend because it rhymes with “literature.”
Etymology : liter “letter” + a “linker” + sewer “drain”
