Dish

noun; zero derivation
News or gossip. Also used as newspaper jargon, and is similar to a “scoop,” but conveys a greater amount of news than scoop. Both are literally kitchen utensils, so possibly “dish” was invented to signify news that carries more information than “scoop.” It is also used when referring to gossip.
