slackadem

noun; blending and clipping
Someone at Rice who majors in the Social Sciences or Humanities (an academ), with a playfully negative connotation. Implies that academs have less intensive work than students in the hard sciences and hence get to slack off.

You’re not a pre-med anymore? You’re officially a slackadem!
Etymology : Blend of SLACKER (clipped to slack) and ACADEM
