- Since you’re from Plano, that makes you a Planite. But if you’re from Richardson, it’s kind of hard to say Richardsonian.

noun; blending and clipping
Someone from Plano. Since there are many students at Rice that from various parts of Texas, there was a need to distinguish students from different cities. Houstonian is already a well established word meaning “a person from Houston”. However, there are no words designating a person from Dallas, Galveston, San Antonio, Austin, or any of the other major cities in Texas. Therefore, Planite is the first of many new words to appear.
Etymology : From clipping/blend Plan(o) + -ite ‘as, like, of, N/ADJ forming’
