hypotenusize

verb; derivation
To walk in a straight line to a target instead of following a path which contains turns In particular, if a sidewalk makes a 90 degree turn, then walking along it corresponds to walking along the legs of a right triangle, while hypotenusizing corresponds to walking along the hypotenuse. Possible reason used: Perhaps the speaker immediately thought of right triangles in this situation, so this caused him to use a geometry sounding term.

do we have to hypotenusize?
