Land That Time Forgot

noun;
refers to the region in which one grew up. Origin: The extended metaphor in this term in that the people in it are not highly evolved, to put it euphemistically. What my uncle means by this term is that his extended family operates on the level of Neanderthals.

…and so now I live in the suburbs with an engineering degree and they’re all still content to be yats, whistling away in the Land That Time Forgot.
