Earmuffs

verb; zero derivation
Definition: a term used to warn listeners (especially children) of an inappropriate (usually vulgar) conversation which they shouldn’t listen to, to which the response is to cover one’s ears as if wearing earmuffs in order to avoid hearing the conversatio Earmuffs Origin: I first heard this term in June 2003, it had become more common but has now slowed down its progress and is less in vogue than in previous years. I believe it even came to be used in a popular movie and on television.

Usage: “Johnny earmuffs, daddy has to talk to his drinking buddies.”
