Kaffufle

verb; sound symbolism
Definition: term used to describe a conflict or a feud going on between people. Kaffufle Origin: I heard this word on the 23rd of November 2005 on the television show “America’s Next Top Model” it was meant to describe a discord between to contestants on the show. I believe that the word could have come about because of its closeness to the word ‘scuffle’, which is a more confrontational type of discord, because the words are so similar in sound. Although the word was used on television I don’t believe it will come into popular language, I think it was a “one hit wonder” word, it was appropriate in the moment, it got the message across but it won’t be needed again.

Usage: “She performed well even with the whole kafuffle going on between her and Bre backstage.”
