Definition: Term for a person who is obsessed or addicted to the internet cite “The Facebook” and is constantly checking on their status on the network. Facebook slut Origin: I first heard this term in January 2005, the internet site was only established in 2004 so the term is a relatively new innovation. The site is a massive network for college students to interact and create profiles and connect with each other. The site can be addictive and a person who checks their status constantly and uses it to “stalk” or search for members of the opposite sex constantly can be perceived to be flirting online. A person who overly flirts is seen as a slut and then the connection is made. Since the term is so specific I doubt that it will branch off into other arenas but as popular as the site has become I do feel that the term will stay around.
