a person of African-American descent A person of African-American descent. The figure .6 is equivalent to 3/5. This term refers to the Three-Fifths compromise in which slaves were counted as three-fifths of a person when a state’s quota of Congressmen was to be determined. The word is used either to get a laugh or when a person wants to air a rascist sentiment but is afraid of being overheard.
