Downloaded or retrieved from the internet. Zero-derivation. Existing phrases such as “I got it off a catalog” or “I got advice off a website” have led to the word offline being used as such. My roommate would say “I got a song offline”, which is contrary to the word’s original meaning, “not connected to the Internet”. The word, which could be considered a compound of “off” and “line” or a zero-derivation of “offline”.
