ad012; blending
Describing an action which occurs automatically in a mysterious or magical way, especially when performed by a computer or machine. This word describes actions that happen automatically, but also seem to happen magically. The word may be used when the speaker does not understand the process by which the action occurs. It can also be used when the speaker would like for the audience to take such an action for granted, as he or she does not want to explain how the action occurs. Automagic events are often directed by computers or machines. This neologism was coined to describe actions which take place so much on their own, they seem to be magic.
The car doors lock automagically when you go over a certain speed.
