the "maniacal" and expansive use of electronics. The ubiquity of electronic devices. Interpretation of intended meaning: The popularity, ubiquity, and vast usage of electronic devices. Presumed reason for coinage: the recent many technological advances in society. Notes: -mania could be another form of mani or it could come from "maniac."
