Flack

verb; zero derivation
To self-advertise and sell something, perhaps in a marketplace or other informal area. Seems to suggest 'to sell something.' The word seems close in meaning to one colloquial definition of "hawk," 'to sell goods, especially on the street.'

Utah senator flacked his album of love songs on Home Shopping Network last year.
Etymology : Zero derivation from "flack," 'means "a press agent; a publicity man.' (OED)
