BFF

adjective; acronym
incredibly close-knit and intimate like best friends. kind of a girly slang, used perhaps to be cute. It is a reference to the elementary/junior high days when girls used to write their names down and write BFF all over everything. Also, since it isn’t that commonly used, it can be slyly said in front of people without most of them knowing what it means (the conversation was about failing to get the birthday girl a present, but it being ok because we’re not THAT close)

It’s not like we’re BFF or anything
Etymology : acronym for ‘best friends forever’
Source : conversation at birthday party
