LAFE
verb; acronym
to arrange to send correspondence or documentation to a customer. specific to First North American National Bank and possibly other companies using the same software. Presumed reason for coinage Acronym comes from the computer application entitled Letter Automated Front-End, used by Customer Service and Account Management representatives at FNANB to file a request for such correspondence or documentation, which will later be located and mailed out by an employee in another dept. Obviously, this word is part of bank jargon and will not join the general American vocabulary. LAFE is all too familiar to all FNANB employees, and using the term as a verb helps convey the idea of filing a request for the letter rather than physically dispatching it; computer problems this summer meant that some requests were delayed or lost. Notes specific to FNANB employees
