LEGOIZE

verb; derivation
To make compatible with a structure made of LEGO pieces for the purpose of attachment. Presumed reason for coinage There was no accepted vocabulary that expressed the sought idea, and "to make compatible with LEGO structure" is much too clumsy to be repeatedly used. Thus, a new verb was born from an obviously related idea and an old affix. Notes LEGO refers to the popular toy blocks with distinctive rows of bumps that can connect them. The affix -IZE means to make into, or, in this case, to make compatible with. This is analogous to such constructions as "rationalize," meaning to make compatible with rational thought. It is interesting to note that this word is awkward to pronounce and seems to beg for a consonant filler between the two roots. The lack of the filler is evidence of its recent origin and exclusively written usage.

The RoboBoard can be LEGOIZED by using the threaded axles and a long LEGO beam.
Etymology : [from LEGO, the toy blocks, and the affix -IZE.]
