Lemme

verb; compounding
This word is just the combination of ‘let’ and ‘me’, it can be used instead of the two words. It is an informal shortcut taken in a hurry, so this would not be appropriate for use in a formal setting or paper. It is also seen when the two words are spok This word was made to make a faster, easier, simpler compound word out of two words that are commonly used together. It would naturally come out that way in speech if the two words were spoken together rapidly, and gradually the combining showed up in written language.

Just lemme know when you have finished your part of the report.
Etymology : The two words ‘let’ and ‘me’ are compounded together, they are combined together and some sound assimilation has taken place. The ‘t’ at the end of ‘let’ has transformed into an ‘m’, which matches the ‘m’ at the beginning of ‘me’.
