moving an event to a time earlier than originally scheduled Presumed reason for coinage people know what postpone means, and since "pre-" means "before" it makes sense to switch the two out- there is a sense that people would associate "pone" with moving a date
 
the Aeros are making sports history by pre-poning the game to Dec.7
