Shmoo

noun;
A small, tight curve or arch I have no idea how this came about. In context, it makes a modicum of sense to presume that the shape is some kind of bunching-up or a curve, but Shmoo honestly has no precedent other than sounding really funny.

Foraging beside me [the muskrat] walked very humped up, maybe to save heat loss through evaporation. Generally, whenever he was out of water he assumed the shape of a shmoo; his shoulders were as slender as a kitten's.
