Robotrip

verb; blending and clipping
To experience hallucinogenic effects from abuse of cough syrup. This neologism represents the convenient convergence of two concepts. First, it is the compounding and Robitussin and tripping, the first component of the word causing the other. The addition of the ‘o’ in between ‘rob’ and ‘trip’ may not be a mere accidental filler, as it might first appear. Numerous accounts of those having experienced a ‘robotrip’ recall a sort of flashing, computer-screen-like effect that has, for one reason or another, come to be associated with robots, perhaps from the ‘robot dance’ that often involves a strobe light.

”I heard Dan and Alfred are Robotripping tonight”
Etymology : Robitussin (cough syrup) + tripping (hallucinating from drugs)
Source : Overheard in a group conversation at a Rice party.
