myalgia

noun; derivation
Pain resulting from any muscular disease or disorder.
 
Spinal cord damage can, in some cases, lead to severe myotonia. Myalgia is symptomatic of myositis ossificans—the formation of calcium deposits in the muscle tissue.
Etymology : Gr. myo ‘muscle’ + alg ‘pain’ + ia ‘land, state, medical condition’
