Mouse Potato

noun; blending
Person who spends extensive amounts of time in front the computer surfing the internet with the help of a computer mouse. Apparent meaning: someone who spends extensive amounts of time in front the computer surfing the internet. Type of word formation: Blend of ‘mouse’ and the phrase ‘couch potato’. Possible reason used: Student wanted to accentuate the similarity of the other student’s behavior to that of a couch potato, only that the student was not spending large amounts of time in front of the television on the couch but sitting in his chair in front of his computer. He was using his mouse to surf the internet for extended periods of time just as a couch potato uses his remote control to surf the television channels.

Man, you are such a MOUSE POTATO; get off your lazy butt.
Etymology : [blend of ‘mouse’ and ‘couch potato’].
