To turn into a hippie, or into someone who is more liberal and rebellious when it comes to political issues Reason used: This was an easy way of saying “to turn into a hippie” in one single word. This tactic can be used for any other word, such as ‘nerdify’ or ‘trendify’.
 
Johnny Cash was officially hippified.
