a mixture whose components are not easily identified or separated Possible reason used: Glides off the tongue more easily; is a phonetic change geared towards comfort and possibly the sound ‘mosh’ being more symbolic of mixing than ‘mash’ is.
 
French is a mishmosh of other languages.
Etymology : ‘mishmash’=> ‘mishmosh’; high vowel ‘a’ to lower vowel ‘o’
