dingle

noun; blending
A college dorm room meant to house two students, but instead only occupied by one student. A dorm room intended for two people to live in, but only occupied by one. The order of the elements of the blend matches up with this meaning, because a ‘dingle’ is a double that has become in effect a single. The element from ‘double’ comes first, and is then followed by a longer element from ‘single.’ The speaker said this to clarify another individual’s roundabout way of explaining his college dorm. She used ‘dingle’ to summarize in a single word the same idea that he had taken several sentences to explain.

Oh, you live in a dingle?
