Petrous
adjective; derivation
Of, or resembling Petr Svab Characteristic of Petr Svab, a crazy Czech mathematician, who was a very (unintentionally) offensive and foreign person (made the stereotypical misuses of English phrases, too) and has a very interesting personality. It refers to any sort of action or saying or anything that resembles Petr or reminds one of Petr. Adding the adjectival gloss of the morpheme ‘-OUS’ gives this word it’s character. Something was seen or carried out that resembles Petr and reminded one of him, and hence described as such. Rather than saying ‘Petr-like’ or ‘Like Petr’, ‘PETROUS’ gives some legitimacy to the notion, as it is very distinctive and can be used often.
Etymology : [derivation of the name Petr with morpheme –OUS (adj.)]
Source : Czech named Petr
