Jesus-Land

noun; compounding
1) Lands that are ‘ruled by Jesus’, i.e. very Christian 2) Right wing United States, i.e. all but CA, MI, MN, New England, etc. Parts of the United States which are conservative (i.e. red) and Christian, i.e. the U.S. minus California, Washington, Oregon, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, New England. JESUS is an apt way to describe to Christian right wing. LAND clearly refers to the U.S., which is a large chunk of LAND. The word “Jesus-Land” gets its point across rather poignantly without much explanation.

Michael Moore and other sites have begun describing the conservative parts of the United States as Jesus-Land in honour of the very Christian right wing prominence that has surfaced.
Etymology : [Roots JESUS derived from the proper name compounded with root LAND]
