to vomit apparent meaning: to vomit reason used: She used this slang term because a person’s name sounds more informal than vomit, and she was in a very informal situation. This term was probably coined after someone named Ralph who vomited often.
 
After much to drink, a friend of mine mentioned that she was about to ralph all over the sofa.
Etymology : Zero derivation from a person’s name, word changed from proper noun to verb.
