- In the past, terms like 'phone sex' and 'cybersex' have been used to describe this type of "dirty talk" that is not exchanged face-to-face. However, neither of these terms encompasses the now more popular form of communication: text messaging. Rather than using a term such as 'text sex', textual intercourse is a more clever way of describing this act. This rhyming blend formed from the roots sex and text is often used, although not always suggesting a sexual nature, e.g. being textually active, textual relations.
