clipping; verb
to overtly flirt with a person of the preferred sex, usually in a non-private setting so that it is purposely visible to many people
 
To convey imagery through the use of a metaphor of excessive sweetness, like that found in a cake. Similar use as the word icing, as in “the icing on the cake”
Etymology : Clipping of the word caking which is used as a metaphor cake form Old Norse: kaka meaning 'something round, lump of something'
