Rooster Tail

When someone is chugging from a Jones College chug canister takes their fingers off the holes too early, the resulting stream of water is called a Rooster Tail.
 
Through Metaphor the stream of water became known as a rooster tail because it follows the can and someone resembles which the tail of a rooster looks like.
Etymology : F. N - a place for domesticating birds - - suffix meaning one who does Tail coming from the Old English - hindmost part of an animal
