monthiversary

noun; blending
the monthly reoccurrence of the date of a past event; the celebration thereof

The term is generally used in the context of dating, used predominantly among younger people, high school and college age. The term is useful for such a group, in which relationships are generally short term. It is used to commemorate month markers in a relationship, rather than year markers (as in the word “anniversary”). “Monthiversary” is a less formal term to keep track of the length of a dating relationship more precisely.
Etymology : Monthiversary is a blending of month and (ann)iversary. Month comes from Old English monath from Proto-Germanic maenoth. Anniversary comes from a Latin term meaning ‘returning annually’, from ann ‘year’ + i (linker) + vers ‘to turn’ + ary (Noun forming suffix).
