esky

noun; clipping
a cooler; a container that keeps its contents cool and fresh for a period of time, even when outdoors. The brand name ‘Esky’ has been absorbed into the Australian language so much that everyone uses it instead of ‘cooler’ or other more traditional words. This is like ‘Kleenex’ in America, which has come to be interchangeable with the word ‘tissue.’

All the beer is in the esky over by the tents.
Etymology : esky. clipping of 'eskimo'
