microblog

compounding; verb
A set of brief (typically less than 140 characters) web journal entries.
 
Most often used to describe the many "microblogging services" offered by websites such as Twitter, Pownce, Facebook, and others. Can also be used to describe the act of writing an entry in a microblog, for example: "Jim microblogged about his cat today".
Etymology : Comes from the words "micro" meaning small and "blog" which is short for web log, meaning a web journal.
