Puffing

derivation and clipping; verb
To engage in Powder Puff, meaning to play in a Powder Puff football game, here in the context of a game for your residential college at Rice University. May be used in two ways: I'm going to puff; are you puffing tonight?

We had a game today, so we're not puffing again until Sunday's game.
Etymology : Powder Puff Football means women's football, derived from the powder puff with which women powder their face with makeup.'Puff' has two potential sources for this context: it may come from the Australian 'poof' meaning a male homosexual or extremely effeminiate woman, thus giving 'puff' feminine characteristics; may also come from 'pouf' meaning a woman's hair up-do, coming from the French bouffer, meaning 'to blow out, puff.'
