PLP

noun; acronym
A companion of someone, often of the same sex, who is constantly around that person, but who is not openly romantically attached to him or her.

Used to joke about a person who is around another suspiciously often, with the suggestion that the constant proximity of the two is evidence of a hidden love for each other.
Etymology : An initialism for 'Platonic Life Partner,' playing off of the phrase 'life partner' which most commonly refers to a person of the same sex whom one plans to spend the rest of his or her life with. Can be used as a euphemism for 'life partner'.
