To best an opponent cheaply or easily, as by taking advantage of a weakness.
 
Used most commonly when playing video games, often with the implication that the subject is winning by frowned-upon methods.
Etymology : Derived from the noun 'gimp', meaning a person with a handicap or disability, due to the apparent helplessness or lack of capability shown by the opponent, suggesting that the subject is maiming the opponent.
