monetize

transitive verb; derivation
To turn an idea into something tangible and profitable.

Used in the business world in determining how practical and viable something is before developing it.
Etymology : Derived from 'monetary' (meaning related to money, from Latin 'Moneta', the epithet of Juno, whose temple housed a mint) and the verb-forming suffix '-ize', suggesting the metaphor that a concept is literally being turned into money.
