Fashionista (1)

noun; derivation
A fashion-conscious female

Used to describe a girl obsessed with fashion and trends; she only wears the best labels and latest designer name brands.
Etymology : This word comes from the derivational suffix “ista” added on to the word fashion. Fashion comes from the Old French word façon meaning "shape, manner, mode." The meaning of fashion there stems from the designs aiming to capture the body’s form and shape. –ista is a new, posh noun former ending (most recently made populat by Starbucks for their “baristas”) that usually carries a female connotation. Thus, a fashionista is a female concerned with the latest trends, forms, shapes, and fashions.
