recurse

folk etymology; verb
To recur.

One "recurses" through a recursive data structure or recursive algorithm.
Etymology : This word comes from the frequent mistake of computer scientists who believe that the verb form of 'recursive' is simply the shortening of it to 'recurse'.
Source : Professor Tim Harvey of the Rice computer science department actually advocates the use of this word knowing full well it is wrong.
