rocket jump

compounding; verb
To propel oneself by directing an explosive device at one's feet.
 
The most common use of the term is in video games where it is possible to shoot a weapon such as a bazooka at one's feet, harming yourself while simultaneously propelling you violently upwards.
Etymology : The word formation comes from the two words 'rocket', the explosive trigger device, and 'jump', the end effect.
