From the point of view of a new student, a grandadvisor is the advisor of the student's advisors.
 
used in the metaphor as an Orientation Week Group as a family, where the advisors are the parents and the new students are the children. If you continue this metaphor and make a family tree, the role of grandparents would be named grandadvisors.
Etymology : Compound of grand and advisor.
