DiffEscrew

noun; blending and clipping
An informal nickname for a course on differential equations, implying that the course is hard to understand or unenjoyable.

“Differential equations” is often shortened when talking about it due its long name. Many courses are also subject to getting nicknames based on supposed traits that they have. This word combines both tendencies.
Etymology : From DiffEq, pronounced as Diff-E-Q, a shortening of differential equations, and screw in the sense of “to make a mess of, spoil, ruin; to confuse, upset, disturb mentally” with uncertain origin but believed to come from Old French escroue “screw” or Middle Low German schrûve
