Moobs

noun; blending and clipping
The breast-like protruding chest of males that is often more noticeable the more obese the male is The word moobs came from a clipping and blending process in which the m of man was clipped and blended onto the clipped oobs of boobs. The word was formed because of the humor it produced and how perfectly the two words blended. Although the topic of moobs does not come up regularly, it is often used when making fun of someone. I believe the term was coined solely for the sake of referring to an obese male's chest as more than a flabby chest. The word is most often heard with adolescents and can be considered a vulgar term. Since the blended-clipped version is much more concise I believe it made it easier for people to refer to them as moobs as opposed to the large saggy chest of males, which greatly influenced its coming into the language. Prior to the creation of moobs, the term man-boobs was often heard but even then was rare.

Man boobs, or moobs, are a growing epidemic.
Etymology : moobs. From Latin masculus 'man' and German bubbi 'breasts'
