Dro

noun; clipping
Hydroponically grown marijuana

“Hydroponically grown marijuana” is a mouthful, so it makes perfect sense that people who deal (with) it frequently would want to shorten it into a fun-sized word. Though hydroponics are used to grow things other than marijuana i.e. fruits, vegetables, other plants, the clipping “dro” specifically refers to weed. The term isn’t as popular as “dank,” so it hasn’t crossed as effectively into mainstream vocabulary.
Etymology : Evolved from hydroponics, a technology used to grow marijuana indoors in a controlled climate
