Presidentialize

verb Affixation
To make someone seem to be of greater authority, esp. that of a presidential figure. '(to) Presidentialize' is formed through affixation of a verb ending "-ize" to the adjective 'presidential'. This is strongly reminiscent of the verb '(to) personalize' meaning "to make special or unique to oneself" from the adjective 'personal' meaning "special or unique to oneself". The word is typically used by writers to refer to someone who is trying to make themselves into or place themselves into a higher class (social, power, etc.) than they are. It is used instead of 'aggrandize' or something similar because it has specific political overtones from 'presidential' and sounds fairly formal or exact so it could be used in any circumstance from conversation to publication.

"Sarkozy tries to presidentialize himself."
Etymology : Affixation: Root adj. 'presidential' + verb ending '-ize'
